Path of Lore

Several or all of the skills listed below have short videos that show the skill in action (indicated by the play buttons). There is a small version and a large version. The small version is in a 320x240 format and the larger version is in 640x480. Besides a quality difference there is also a difference in the size of the files. Whereas the large version files are 200K-1MB in size, the smaller versions are all below 200K.

Identify (Passive)
Much used by the merchants, this skill grants you the ability to accurately evaluate the properties of items both magical and mundane. Identification happens automatically the moment you want to inspect an item, and your skill level is high enough to identify the type of weapon.
Level 1 Objects with an identification level lower than 1 can be identified.
Required level is 1
Level 2 Objects with an identification level lower than 2 can be identified.
Required level is 5
Level 3 Objects with an identification level lower than 3 can be identified.
Required level is 9
Level 4 Objects with an identification level lower than 4 can be identified.
Required level is 13
Level 5 Objects with an identification level lower than 5 can be identified.
Required level is 17
Alchemy (Passive)
Grants you the skill of Alchemy, allowing you to successfully combine potions and herbs. As you progress through the game, you will discover more and more ways of combining items with each other. Some items can be combined without knowing the alchemy skills, others require that you have learnt the alchemy skill to a certain degree. To combine items with each other, simple drag one item over the other. For instance, a small empty flask can be dragged over small red herbs to create a healing potion.
Level 1 Alchemy level 1 operations are possible. Allows you to mix potions with each other.
Required level is 3
Level 2 Alchemy level 2 operations are possible. Allows you to extract minor potions from herbs.
Required level is 9
Level 3 Alchemy level 3 operations are possible. Allows you to extract normal potions from herbs.
Required level is 15
Level 4 Alchemy level 4 operations are possible. Allows you to extract super potions from herbs.
Required level is 21
Level 5 Alchemy level 5operations are possible. Allows you to use augmentors to boost potion levels.
Required level is 27
Know Creature (Passive)
Know thine enemy. This skill grants you insight into the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent. While initially this skill might not look so appealing, it is definitely worth investing to, as it might give you the key insight into how to kill an enemy which seems to be resistant to whatever you do.
Level 1 Succesfully identify monsters up to level 10. Shows the hitpoints of the monster.
Required level is 3.
Level 2 Succesfully identify monsters up to level 20. Shows damage and armour of the monster.
Required level is 7.
Level 3 Succesfully identify monsters up to level 30. Shows offence and defence of the monster.
Requireed level is 11
Level 4 Succesfully identify monsters up to level 40. Shows the chance to hit, hearing and sight of the monster.
Required level is 15.
Level 5 Succesfully identify monsters up to level 50. Shows the resistances of the monster.
Required level is 19.
True Sight (Passive)
Lift the veil of illusions from your eyes and see the world as it truly is. Sometimes enemies make themselves invisible, only to appear again when they attack you. This gives you a definite tactical disadvantage. Armed with true sight, you will be able to spot them while they thing they can't be spotted, and turn a losing situation into a winning one.
Level 1 See true in a range of 3. Character's that become invisible outside of this skill's range will remain invisible.
Required level is 10.
Level 2 See true in a range of 4. Character's that become invisible outside of this skill's range will remain invisible.
Required level is 14.
Level 3 See true in a range of 5. Character's that become invisible outside of this skill's range will remain invisible.
Required level is 18.
Level 4 See true in a range of 6. Character's that become invisible outside of this skill's range will remain invisible.
Required level is 22.
Level 5 See true in a range of 7. Character's that become invisible outside of this skill's range will remain invisible.
Required level is 26.
Blind
Bring darkness to the eyes of your enemies to reduce their effectiveness in combat. To use, make the skill your active skill, and right click on your enemy.
Level 1 Target loses 20 percent of his sight. Blind lasts for 5 time units.
Required level is 8.
Magic Cost is 8.
Level 2 Target loses 40 percent of his sight. Blind lasts for 5 time units.
Required level is 12.
Magic Cost is 10.
Level 3 Target loses 60 percent of his sight. Blind lasts for 10 time units.
Required level is 16.
Magic Cost is 12.
Level 4 Target loses 80 percent of his sight. Blind lasts for 10 time units.
Required level is 20.
Magic Cost is 14.
Level 5 Target loses 100 percent of his sight. Blind lasts for 15 time units.
Required level is 24.
Magic Cost is 16.
Skin of Poison
A trick much-used by assassins. Coats your body in a poisonous salve bringing damage to any that strike you. Attackers using melee weapons suffer poison damage.To apply poison to your skin, you need to have poison in your inventory. If you have more than one type of poison in your inventory, you will need to select which poison you want to apply to your skin. Once you've done that, you can keep on applying poison to yourself for as long as you have poison of the type you selected by clicking your right mouse button.
Level 1 Applying poisonous salve to your body yields 10 poison charges. Strength of poison depends on the type of poison used. You cannot accumulate poison.
Required level is 16.
Level 2 Applying poisonous salve to your body yields 20 poison charges. Strength of poison depends on the type of poison used. You cannot accumulate poison.
Required level is 20.
Level 3 Applying poisonous salve to your body yields 30 poison charges. Strength of poison depends on the type of poison used. You cannot accumulate poison.
Required level is 24.
Level 4 Applying poisonous salve to your body yields 40 poison charges. Strength of poison depends on the type of poison used. You cannot accumulate poison.
Required level is 28.
Level 5 Applying poisonous salve to your body yields 50 poison charges. Strength of poison depends on the type of poison used. You cannot accumulate poison.
Required level is 32.
Curse
Curse your enemies and let them suffer your wrath. To use, make the skill your active skill, and right click on your enemy.
Level 1 Targeted creature loses 5 percent offence and 5 percent defence. Resistances of targeted creature are lowered by 5 percent. Curse lasts 5 time units.
Required level is 12.
Magic cost is 12.
Level 2 Targeted creature loses 5 percent offence and 5 percent defence. Resistances of targeted creature are lowered by 10 percent. Curse lasts 5 time units.
Required level is 16.
Magic cost is 14.
Level 3 Targeted creature loses 10 percent offence and 10 percent defence. Resistances of targeted creature are lowered by 15 percent. Curse lasts 10 time units.
Required level is 20.
Magic cost is 16.
Level 4 Targeted creature loses 10 percent offence and 10 percent defence. Resistances of targeted creature are lowered by 20 percent. Curse lasts 10 time units.
Required level is 24.
Magic cost is 18.
Level 5 Targeted creature loses 15 percent offence and 15 percent defence. Resistances of targeted creature are lowered by 25 percent. Curse lasts 15 time units.
Required level is 28.
Magic cost is 20.
NecroShift
Allows you to possess the body of a slain enemy for a short period of time. To use the skill, make the skill your active skill, and right click on a dead body and you will find that you are suddenly walking around like the enemy you've just slain, picking up all of his abilities. Your own body becomes soulless and will drop dead. To leave the enemies body, right click on your own body.
Level 1 Duration is 10 seconds. When the duration of the skill ends, your spirit is dragged back to your own body.
Required level is 24.
Magic cost is 24.
Level 2 Duration is 20 seconds. When the duration of the skill ends, your spirit is dragged back to your own body.
Required level is 28.
Magic cost is 26.
Level 3 Duration is 30 seconds. When the duration of the skill ends, your spirit is dragged back to your own body.
Required level is 32.
Magic cost is 28.
Level 4 Duration is 40 seconds. When the duration of the skill ends, your spirit is dragged back to your own body.
Required level is 36.
Magic cost is 30.
Level 5 Duration is 50 seconds. When the duration of the skill ends, your spirit is dragged back to your own body.
Required level is 40.
Magic cost is 32.
